Fans of Better Call Saul have been convinced that the show would definitely win several Emmys for its outstanding final season but were sorely disappointed when the show, despite its impressive 46 Emmy nominations, took no awards home. After the show didn't win a single Emmy over six seasons, fans took to Twitter to express their anger at the injustice, claiming that the Better Call Saul actor Bob Odenkirk and his co-star Rhea Seahorn were robbed.Better Call Saul is a slow-burn legal thriller, a spin-off of the award-winning "best TV show ever" Breaking Bad, which had 58 Emmy Awards nominations, of which it won 16 Emmys, but the story of how Jimmy McGill became the legendary shady lawyer Saul Goodman has been a huge hit.
But despite its roaring success and its perfecting ending to the story of Jimmy McGill in its sixth and final season, Better Call Saul still didn't win any Emmys, which has left fans of the show completely stunned. But despite their devastation, they've still taken to Twitter to share memes.
It's no secret that anyone who's watched Better Call Saul has been simply blown away by the performance of Bob Odenkirk as Saul Goodman.
But despite Odenkirk's fantastic performance which gave a funny caricature of a lawyer emotional depth, it was Squid Game actor Lee Jung-jae, who played Seong Gi-hun in the gripping survival drama, who won the Emmy for Lead Actor in a Drama series.
Lee Jung-jae is the first Asian actor to win best drama actor at the Emmys, and it comes as no surprise to see Squid Game take home Emmys after its overwhelming success on Netflix in 2021.
After the winners at the Emmys were revealed, fans of Better Call Saul took to Twitter to share their disappointment.
Fans were so furious at Better Call Saul's lack of wins that "WHAT A SICK JOKE" trended on Twitter.
"Better Call Saul. The masterclass in acting, writing, directing, and cinematography. Zero wins," one fan tweeted. "WHAT A SICK JOKE."
"Kim Wexler" also trended on Twitter as people shared their outrage at Rhea Seahorn, who played the professional fast-thinking lawyer and wife of Jimmy McGill, not winning an Emmy for her stunning and final portrayal of Kim Wexler.
No one understood how Better Call Saul missed out again in its sixth year. But because the sixth season is split into two parts, fans are hoping that the last half of Better Call Saul's final season is eligible to be nominated for Emmys next year.
"Me wasting my entire morning/afternoon to watch the Emmys only for better call saul to go empty-handed," another fan tweeted.
"Better Call Saul fans when they realize they have to watch the Emmys another year because they still have hopes in winning so awards," another fan tweeted with a GIF of an upset Walter White.
"Better Call Saul fans opening the list of Emmy Winners," another fan tweeted with a clip of Howard Hamlin, a lawyer from Better Call Saul, opening a letter, reading it, then saying "Goddamit!"
But the meme award has to go to the picture that started the phrase "WHAT A SICK JOKE" to go viral on Twitter - a picture of Charles McGill, Jimmy McGill's brother, shouting the phrase in court after he knew his brother had conned him.
Several people took to Twitter to share a "rant" based on the furious speech Charles McGill made about what his brother had done.
Fingers crossed that Better Call Saul can be nominated next year. And if it doesn't win, expect more angry memes.
